About DJ Ken Master K

Music is his poison. A chinese by nationality, MasterK a.k.a DJ Ken Destiny recollects his first opportunity to explore his talent in his college days when he first performed for a private group of friends at a bachelor party. Subsequently, this self -explored passion led to him starting off his DJ-ing career in the year 2000. His craze for Hip-Hop and Dance music got him noticed by top venues worldwide. He then started hitting the decks all across Malaysia, where he gained the maximum recognition not only in the above genres but also in Electro House, Progressive House, Industrial and Electronica. KenMaster K is a Club DJ. He discovered his talent when he accidentally, out of curiosity, composed and compiled his first remix track for his party people and then knowing his potential being accepted and recognized, turned producer with his own unique compilations. He is currently busy in the studios working on his forthcoming releases in international dance music with his buddy DJ's who are internationally renowned and ranked. He is aiming towards having a firm foothold in the international arena, where he aspires to rub shoulders with the eminent and top-rated DJ's across the world. DJ Ken Collaborated with fame international DJs such as DJ Montana (UK), DJ Anne Savage (UK), DJ Ramel Vega (Aus) and along side undisputed DJ Sammy (Spain) in the remixes of top tracks i.e. “Heaven”. DJ Ken Master K has also been a guest DJ at numerous clubs around Malaysia & based at Zouk Club ( Kuala lumpur) , Velvet underground (Kuala Lumpur) , Phuture (Kuala lumpur). While studying at University , DJ Ken got his first taste of DJ-ing, playing first at small social gatherings amongst friends but subsequently this passion led to him starting off a full time DJing career in 2000. Upon his return to Malaysia, Ken started to play at gigs across Malaysia and gained notoriety for his open format style of mixing, it was evident that he was not afraid to mix it up. Playing across all styles and genres to form a unique “Nightout with DJ Ken” experience. Ken has the ability to read even the toughest of crowds and with his style of mixing, Ken has no problem getting clubbers on the dancefloor.
In 2008, Ken decided that music alone was no longer suffice to create a unique nightout experience; he wanted to push the boundaries of audio and visuals. Ken started to explore the possibility of developing a full DVJ set and enlist the help of his mentor and good friend DJ Leonard T. Whilst working on the development of his DVJ set, Ken took the opportunity to work on numerous edits and remixes exclusively available only for his sets; his policy was simple, mashing up familiar tunes with a “DJ Ken touch”. It was in late 2009 that Ken caught the eyes (and ears) of Zouk Club KL, he was offered a residency and the rest is history. Ken plays every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at Velvet Underground.
